The Beauty Blender! I can’t say enough great things about this makeup sponge. If you don’t have one then I feel bad for you. Seriously. I have always liked applying my makeup with a sponge, and before the beauty blender the best sponge I could find was by Sonia Kashuk- available at Target. But I’ve seen better days since then because of the Beauty Blender.
Applying makeup has never been easier. This sponge will leave you with a flawless finish. For me, I like the way sponges apply makeup better than brushes. I have dry skin and brushes can make me look flaky. A damp sponge keeps my skin looking more hydrated.
So, obviously this little guy performs great for foundation, but it doesn’t end there. I have used my beauty blender for: concealer, cream blushes, contouring, and finishing powder. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed!
With any makeup tool it’s important to keep them clean, especially sponges! Sponges can carry bacteria and that is something we definitely don’t want to be putting on our face! So, make sure you clean the sponge regularly. Dr.Bronner’s castile soap is the beauty blender’s BFF! When I first purchased the beauty blender I also bought the cleanser. This cleanser does it’s job, but its expensive and Dr.Bronner’s works better! For the blender I buy the Dr.Bronners unscented baby mild bar soap. I just run the beauty blender back and forth over the bar soap and you can see all the makeup being removed. After the sponge is completely clean I also will put it in the microwave for 1 minute. This will kill germs as well! Wait a little while before you remove the sponge from the microwave because it will be hot! Also, for makeup brushes I use the Dr.Bronner’s liquid soap. I simply put some soap in a cup with my makeup brushes and then rinse. There’s a reason they call this stuff “Magic Soap”!
